The Struggle Is Real

Every so often, I hear this from a parent:

Master Alley, he loves it when he’s here, but sometimes it’s a struggle actually GETTING him here? What do I do?

You bring him to class.

“But I don’t want to force him.” Bring him to class. Sometimes, we need a push, don’t we? No one is motivated 100% of the time to follow through on the goals he set for himself.

Are you?

Am I?

Of course not. It’s easy to slack on our commitments to ourselves, and yet, those people who achieve the most are the ones with the discipline to do it anyways.

Do you ever struggle to get to the gym? Have tough convos with yourself? Finally, make yourself go, and then feel amazing the rest of the day because you did it, even when you didn’t feel like it?

Yeah… me too.

Give your kids that gift. And when they leave class feeling amazing, use it as a teaching opportunity, helping them understand that sometimes in life, we don’t always want to do the things we know are necessary. But it feels good to keep our promises to ourselves.

We are achievers. We take action. We follow through. We commit.

And we are rewarded for our discipline, our diligence, and our determination.
